Delivering safe water in Gaza

Access to safe drinking water in Gaza is critical to prevent diseases and protect public health. To address the urgency, MENTOR delivered drinking water to around 9,000 displaced people across three shelters and displacement sites in Khan Younis last month.

Our teams worked alongside camp committees and humanitarian partners to ensure regular access to 6 litres per person per day, facing challenges such as road closures, damaged infrastructure and the limited availability of safe water sources.

Community representatives were involved in monitoring deliveries and documenting receipts which helped strengthen local ownership and trust.

As humanitarian needs continue to grow, sustained investment in safe water access, storage infrastructure and quality monitoring is essential to reduce the risk of water-borne diseases and protect displaced communities across Gaza.
